DigitalEgypt.net is owned by Digital Egypt, providing Egypt’s first Information Portal, powered by Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Users can access the GIS application to find businesses and services, locate real estate for sale, search for streets and landmarks such as hospitals and schools, view area photographs, and measure distances. The current GIS coverage includes the Governorate of Cairo, The Northern Coast area, and the cities of Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh, with over 3,000 landmarks and over 15,000 streets.

GIS allows the integration of a wide variety of data into one common format - a map. Real estate seekers will be given a visual representation of all the information affecting the desirability and value of a property which will give an accurate picture of a property’s suitability to their needs. Using Adobe’s groundbreaking Flex technology for RIA (Rich Internet Applications), web application will deploy consistently on all browsers and operating systems. Collapsible panels and map Display Modes will give users superior control to see only the data they need.
